Dear Mr Rixon

We write following your recent disappointment with Spicy Tomato flavour Wheat Crunchies and we are very sorry it has been necessary for you to complain.

Careful examination of the product and subsequent investigation at the factory has indicated the problem may have been caused by a fault on the flavour applicator.

The flavour is supplied to the surface of the product, the rate of application being carefully controlled to ensure it is directly proportional to the flow of product. Regular analytical checks are carried out in the laboratory and any minor adjustments made as necessary. Should the tests indicate the amount of flavour present is outside the specification resulting in under or indeed over flavoured product, the product produced between the current and previous check would be quarantined and re-examined. If the tests indicate any were outside the specification then they would be destroyed.
[All this just to make crisps and still they can't get it right!]

We are sorry this has happened, resulting in your concern and hope you will accept our sincere apologies. We also hope the incident will not prevent your continued enjoyment of our snacks and indeed, that you might use the attached with our compliments.

Yours sincerely
