Subject: Your recent e-mail to Colgate

Dear Mr Rixon

Thank you for contacting us with your question. Your interest in our Company
and our products is greatly appreciated. We are happy to have the
opportunity to assist you.

In common with other manufacturers, Colgate-Palmolive is concerned about the
environment. As a matter of corporate policy, we have included the comment,
"please dispose of packet and gum carefully" alongside the picture of a
person putting litter in a bin on all our Colgate Dental Gum packets. We
advise our consumers to dispose of the packet and the used gum in a
responsible manner either by placing these items in a dustbin or wastebin.

We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.

Yours sincerely
