for Solaris and Linux (seemingly unmaintained now and quite beta, yet to
find a working drive to test it with).

- VDAT
by Eduard Ungemach is for Win95/98/NT/2000 and will read and write audio
DAT with a compatible drive. There is a free demo version for download,
but you will have to pay for the full release.
- read_dat
for Linux by Andrew Taylor does what it says (thanks to Andy Loening).
- Wayne Hoxie's wdat and
other tools.
