I wish I could offer more info but as you've found, it's nearly impossible to get all the right pieces in one place. Several years there was a guy selling Archive DDS drives with the audio proms, he was able to get a hold of the real thing, duped the eproms and popped them into non-audio drives. I wish I had bought one if only to get those ROM images. I also recently checked with some DDS refurbishers and they wanted some ridiculous price, upwards of $900 for a used drive w/ audio roms. For that money you could get an audio DAT + a Lucid sound card and not have to worry about the software end of it. And that's what I eventually did. Anyway, it's sort of sad that such an obviously good thing never really became widely available. It goes to show that even though we're sometimes spoiled by the seemingly endless supply of technology, some things may always be just out of reach!
