I picked up an external Conner CTD-8000 on E-Bay for $50 with firmware 5.56 and flashed it in one swell foop using FUP 1.16b to the 5AC firmware. I did not use the /force switch. It works fine with the VDAT demo. I do not yet have it working with DAT2WAV but I've emailed Jim McLaughlin about that and perhaps he can help. Also, thanks to you passing my email along to Douglas Mandell, he is going to burn his one remaining EPROM chip for me and send it along for a nominal charge, so perhaps I'll get my 4320NT upgraded too. Thanks! Date: Wed, 26 Dec 2001 16:19:23 -0600 (CST) My DAT2WAV problem was just that I was using the wrong SCSI ID numbers. Jim McLaughlin sent me a little utility, scsiping, that gives the correct numbers to use, and DAT2WAV works fine with the flashed drive. I can confirm that both DAT2WAV and VDAT work in Windows XP.
