Commuting dog

Last summer, Manchester's Metrolink was shut down for several weeks while the track, much of it dating back to the 1950s, was replaced. The trams were replaced by buses which were frequent, often uncrowded and cheaper - unlike the usual service. The double deckers afforded a different vantage point on the usual journey to work, and in my memory the weather often gave the lie to the popular belief that last summer was as poor as this one.
